Panchakarma is Ayurveda’s unique, wholistic, and health-giving series of therapeutic treatments that facilitates eliminating deep-rooted toxins from the body and mind. This technique is a gentle, yet powerful way to slow down multiple degenerative processes naturally; it includes ancient therapies designed to restore, rejuvenate, and revitalize the body and mind by calming the nervous system, supporting immunity, and releasing stress and tension.
The aim of Panchakarma is to get rid of toxins and any other ama that suppresses your body’s natural self-healing abilities. It can restore your natural state of health and wellness by cleansing your body of toxins, bringing balance into your system, and help you make positive changes in lifestyle. Panchakarma therapies are offered in spas all over the world, and have become synonymous with deep relaxation, while helping to reverse the negative effects of daily living. These therapies are personalized according to the client’s individual dosha (or constitution). thereby enhancing the overall spa experience, as the client will leave with a sense of renewal of mind, body, and spirit.
Part 1 of the training is theory-based, and outlines the important principles of this ancient approach, introducing Ayurveda’s unique system of describing and classifying the various divisions of the body’s innate intelligence, called the 3 Doshas—Vata, Pitta and Kapha as mentioned above. Participants will have a basic understanding of when it is appropriate to administer specific panchakarma techniques; as well learn the traditional method of performing the ancient therapies of Panchakarma.
After completing Part 1, the participant will have an opportunity to participate in a fully hands-on experience of learning as we explore how to perform the following traditional therapies in a spa setting:
- Abhyanga–full body oil massage
- Shirodhara– oil therapy for the scalp and head
- Marma therapy– activation of key energetic points on the body
- Nasya karma and Netra basti – cleansing therapies for nose and eyes

The training is open to anyone who wants to incorporate and promote wellness concepts and practices into their personal health care; the goal is to empower the participant with Ayurvedic approaches to prevention and wellness.
The therapies are ideal for anyone working in a Spa setting such as LMTs, estheticians, Energy workers, body workers, and even yoga teachers.
